Getting Flushed - How does it happen?

Sue in the Colonic Irrigation roomYou are welcomed into the clinic and asked to fill in our client history form to determine what you want to achieve from your colonic treatment. You then spend some time speaking with the therapist about past health concerns and any concerns about the treatments.

You are then asked to go to the bathroom and where you've given a sheet for modesty that's wrapped from waist around. You then come to the clinic room, you lie on your massage bed on your back with your head on a pillow. You're then asked to lie on your side momentarily while the tubing is inserted (yeek – but it's not that scary and not painful). Men, please don't worry, no sensitive spots are touched.

Once inserted outlet pipe is attached. You're then asked to lie back onto your back with your knees bent. The water is switched on slowly to start to circulate around your bowel and therapist massages your stomach while they chat about the weather or any nutrition recommendations.

Through the treatment which lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour there's a process of fills and empties to promote peristaltic action (contraction & release) to promote the removal of hard built up faecal matter. Some people worry that they're going to fart or that they're going to s**t on the table, this not common at all.

To finish the treatment the client lies on their side again, the tubing is removed and the client is then goes to sit on the toilet reading a magazine and the treatment is over leaving the person feeling clean, empty, refreshed, energetic, their eyes feel clear and their head feels clear. Their tummy is flat and sometimes they will loose weight, up to four or five kilos from a treatment.
