Is good bacteria removed?
Yes we do, even when you pass a stool your colon removes good bacteria every five days anyway and the cells regenerate, this is why we recommend probiotics. Often when the bowel is compacted there is more bad bacteria than good bacteria anyway. The idea of a colonic hydrotherapy session is to make an environment where baddies can't live.
What are the hygiene standards? Do we share tubes?
The equipment is all one time only disposable use, individually packaged as well.
Can my bowel be perforated?
I personally don't know how this can happen, we use moulded speculums and we work with the sphincter muscle which allows the speculum to go in without force.
Can my bowel be stretched?
We respect our clients that we work with and we don't over fill. The client has complete say of comfort level. We have a pressure gauge on our machine that tells us and the bowel is a muscle, that means it's built to stretch and contract and in fact colonics improves the integrity of this muscle.
Does it hurt?
It's not a painful process but it can be uncomfortable at times, particularly before a release, it just feels like you want to do a poo.
Am I going to be embarrassed?
Yes, however after 10 minutes this feeling does subside, you're covered discreetly, your tummy is massaged and the warm water is soothing your bowel. The therapists are very respectful and we understand that some people do get embarrassed.
How will I feel afterwards?
Many clients say they feel like they've done a two week detox in one hour, where their body feels alive, clear and clean and energetic.
Can I have too many colonics?
We would recommend four to six treatments a week apart and then the therapist will determine a treatment plan depending on the outcome that you're looking to achieve.
What's the diet I should follow?
We recommend body ecology diet that improves your immune system and removes Candida albicans (bad bacteria) from your body to ensure optimum health.
Will I loose weight?
If you follow the advice given from the therapist and have consistent treatments, yes.
